If you want to be a part of helping Jeff’s World be made into a movie but you don’t have any acting or production skills, or you live outside the Sacramento area here’s your big chance. We just launched our fund raising campaign over on Kickstarter. We need to raise $25,000 to shoot this movie. Now to people like me and you this sounds like a lot of money. But in movie world, that’s chump change! And the truth is, when you break it down into bite size pieces, it’s not that much. If 500 people gave $50 this thing would be fully funded.
Kickstarter is an awesome platform to raise the money because the way it works is people donate the money, but no money changes hands until the project is fully funded by the deadline. In our case that’s March 12, 2012. Those who donate get cool rewards. Like for $50 you get a free copy of the movie on DVD, a poster, and a certificate of gratitude so you can prove you were a key player in making this thing happen. If the project isn’t fully funded by the deadline, no money changes hands and no rewards go out.
